I'm Mel — an Interactive Design & Technology student at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, graduating June 2025. I transform complex problems into intuitive digital experiences through user-centered design and clean code.

What makes me a little different: I have a background in microbiology and immunology from prior university studies. That science foundation shaped how I think — methodically, with evidence, always asking why. I brought that into design.

My creative path began in 2011 when I discovered Photoshop as a teen. Over time I mastered Photoshop, taught myself Illustrator, and started doing logo and visual design work seriously.

In 2020 I earned a UX certificate with BrainStation, which sparked a deeper passion for user experience. That led me to Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Interactive Design and Technology diploma — a program that's been genuinely transformative.

Now I'm at the intersection I've always wanted: designing how things look and building how they work.
